Why TypeScript over plain JavaScript?

TypeScript catches whole classes of bugs at compile time instead of in production. It also makes onboarding faster — new developers can read the types instead of guessing what a function expects. For any codebase that will live longer than six months, the cost is paid back many times over.
What stack do you default to for a new build?

Next.js on the App Router, React Server Components where they fit, TypeScript everywhere, PostgreSQL for storage, and Vercel or AWS for hosting. We deviate when the project genuinely needs something different, not because a new framework launched last week.
